Jenni’s younger brother, Jason, has Down syndrome. Growing up, Jason was one of the first students with Down syndrome in their school district, which led to isolation and bullying. Through Special Olympics, Jenni and Jason were able to witness inclusion for the first time. This gave Jenni the inspiration to create the PALS program and the “Congratulations Project”, an initiative where people with Down syndrome write letters of hope and inspiration to new parents of babies diagnosed with Down syndrome.
